Infusionsoft is Updating — What Does this Mean for Me?

infusionsoftYes, it’s true! The latest and greatest version of our favorite software will be rolling out to all customers throughout the month of June. If you haven’t gotten it already, you will by the end of this month. The updates are great, so let’s dive right in!

Google Chrome is now supported!

If Chrome is your favorite browser, you can cheer about this one! Chrome has not been supported for certain features in Infusionsoft (like the Campaign Builder), but now it works just fine.

Ecommerce Updates

We all know that the more steps someone has to take to do something, the less likely they are to do it! That’s why the ecommerce process has to be as streamlined and easy as possible for the customer. Infusionsoft has taken this to heart, especially for PayPal users!

The Spring update of Infusionsoft makes it much easier for you to use PayPal as your only payment processer, without losing customers to the PayPal black hole. You can now have streamlined order-placing with “Express Checkout.” For this to be available to you, you must have a PayPal Business Account. There is no charge for a business account, and it works basically the same as a personal account.

If you’re not sure what type of account you have, just login to your PayPal account. When you get to your dashboard, under where it says “Welcome, __________” it will say “Account Type: Business.” (or it might say “personal,” or “premier,” depending on what type of account you have.)

If you have a personal account, you need to upgrade. Infusionsoft has a dedicated team at PayPal that can help you with this. Contact them at 855-477-5675, or you can do it online. Your Solamar account manager can obviously help you as well!

PayPal for Subscriptions AND Payment Plans!

You can also use PayPal now to accept recurring payments, such as for membership programs or subscriptions. AND you can now offer payment plans with PayPal! This will work with shopping carts AND order forms!

This does take a little tinkering to set up the integration inside your Infusionsoft account, but once it’s done, you’re all set. Be sure to let us know (hyperlink to email us) if you’d like us to offer this option inside your account!

Does this mean you don’t need a merchant account anymore? Not necessarily. If you’re doing more than $1,000 in sales every month, it benefits you to have a merchant account. That process is still easier and more streamlined than PayPal. And even though PayPal has 75 million users around the world, far more people still DON’T have a PayPal account. So if you’re a smaller merchant, and you don’t want to take the plunge into a merchant account just yet, this is great news for you! But if you have a merchant account already, this just enables you to offer more options to your customers, which means more sales!

Better Dashboard

You’ll also notice a MUCH cleaner, visually appealing dashboard. It tells you in big, colorful blocks the basic stats about your latest email send, your list and other pertinent details. You can still choose what you like to see there—it’s just better represented visually now.
